About Us

Our History

HSR Corp’s history is rooted in the immigrant experience, marked by hard work, perseverance, and family unity – as well as a bit of luck along the way. Coming to the United States with determination, the Fung family steadily built their success from humble beginnings in the garment industry, eventually finding true opportunity in the real estate and property sector. Their realization of the American dream was built on sacrifice, dedication, and resilience across generations.

Our Founder

The company’s founder, Irving (see Yee) Fung - the Fung family patriarch, was deeply inspired by his own father, whose entrepreneurial spirit and values laid the foundation for the family legacy which continues to drive HSR Corp today. Through hard work, sacrifice, and a strong family bond, Irving Fung and his wife, Sau Fung (Gong) Fung raised six children, instilling a value driven work ethic and dedication to family. The success of HSR Corp is attributed to resilience, seizing opportunity, and most importantly having the strength and support of family which remain central to the company’s culture today.

Our Growth

The company’s growth has been characterized by a careful expansion from building a stable foundation, then employing sound, sustainable investment principles to ensure a steady, measured growth. Through the development and nurturing of trusted partnerships coupled with a hands-on commitment to property acquisition, HSR Corp’s property development philosophy honors the enduring family values of hard work, reliability, and mutual support. This rigorous approach has provided substantial, realized growth throughout the years.

Our Beginning

HSR Corp’s beginnings trace back to 1982 with the acquisition of 503-511 Broadway, a historic SoHo property built in 1878-79 as the Loubat Stores, initially purchased to house their garment manufacturing business. This marked a transition from owning smaller residential and commercial properties to owning larger property assets. Taking advantage of market opportunities without over leveraging their core business would be a philosophy that guides their property development approach.

Today

Today, HSR Corp builds upon its rich family heritage with a broad team of experienced professionals, enabling expansion beyond a purely family-run enterprise. This evolution allows the company to seize new opportunities while maintaining the time-honored values that remain central to its identity. The company remains committed to growing sustainably, delivering client-centric properties, while providing measured profitability to all its stakeholders.
